Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

With this extension, new tabs display a blank page instead of the usual new tab page with thumbnails.
Does exactly what I want - new tab to be Google, with the the cursor in the search box (you can choose to have it in the omnibox if you prefer) I'm amazed this isn't incorporated into the Chrome settings anyway - it's such an obvious thing for people to want.
Really sucks. Wants extra permissions. Who do you think you are. Zuckwrberg?
Finally an extension which does what it has to be done. Simply. Minimalist. Great. It would be perfect if it could delete the tab navigation history after redirection, so the very first site in the history is the redirected site instead the redirection page. Thanks for your work.
Open source on GitHub, perfect for five stars. The explanation of all optional permissions is excellent, but they have no obvious effects (?)
I added this because from the description I thought I could get the old tab back - with google search but without the recent sites. However, that's NOT TRUE. There are lots of options, most of which are completely useles for me, such as Internals, and the 'blank page' option. I wish it had more accurate description of what it really is. Removing now.
The extension is not enabled. I have to enable each and every time I use Chrome.
シンプルで使いやすい
Does exactly what I want; replaces Chrome's ugly and potentially intrusive new tab page with the original simple and clean Google search page. The extension is very easy to set up and I haven't experienced any issues with a misplaced cursor, the speed of new tab loading, or needed to delete highlighted text as mentioned by others. Should be the default Chrome setting for new tabs, in my opinion.
really nice, i made it to redirect to my homepage geeting rid of all the unwanted most visited thumbnails
very good
