High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

A customisable colour filter applied to web pages to improve colour perception.
It works as advertised. It has the option for a 'yellow on black' and I'd really love to be able to pick say green on black instead. The yellow on black just isn't my thing. I don't rely on it for anything important, and if any of the other reviews are to be believed you shouldn't either. I write use google docs, and I have to read a lot of different articles and such. Being able to reverse the colors on at least google docs relieves some eye strain, and that's really all I use it for.
Slows the loading of pages, Buggy and does not work as it's meant to...
helemaal OK voor mij!
Certainly not yet perfect, but for me it's by far the best way I can compensate for poor vision without having to zoom in so far. At present, it shows many pop-up items like data entry windows with unreadably white text on a white background; and I hope one day the devs will be able to fix this. I have found that the SHIFT+F11 hotkey works pretty well on Windows 10, but not at all on Ubuntu 18.04 -- I haven't tried it on any other op systems yet, but I hope it can be fixed. Also would there be any way that images could be reliably detected and rendered without the colour reverse with out affecting the surrounding text? However, despite my little moans, I am profoundly grateful for this extension -- it's the one I use almost all the time.
Photo color inversion should be optionally disabled
Ótimo recurso para reduzir a luz azul emitida pela tela, principalmente no período noturno, além de reduzir o consumo de energia. Seria melhor se as imagens e as fotos não sofressem inversão de cores.
Used it for some time 2 years ago, but switched to DarkReader. Much better interface, more options and no problems with images. From whatever reason just got "High Contrast" recommended to me by chrome, so I use it as an opportunity to write a review, cheers!
I really like this extension except for the fact that it makes images almost invisible sometimes. I'm not sure what it's doing to the images but it makes some sites unusable with the inverted color configuration. If not for this then I'd give it a 5 star rating.
It's okay, would be great if it had an option to not invert images.
would prefer if the extension has option to ignore images
