High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

How do I set custom rules for certain sites? I want to have it disabled for sites like youtube dark. But it seems all sites share the same rule.
Images and Videos should not be Inverted. Only Text and Background should be Inverted.
I love this but I cannot manipulate the contrast when working in Chrome Settings. Chrome Settings background page is fluorescent and it hurts many senior citizens eyes. I am an admin for a nursing care facility and I help in the library for the seniors and color blind members.

I like this a lot, but it needs a whitelist. Some sites already have good dark themes.
Unlike the various dark mode extension, this one inverts the colours of the pictures as well.
Sometimes it's difficult to tell whether the extension has enabled high contrast mode. Some websites don't change very much or at all in high contrast mode. The extension needs to be updated to change its icon depending on whether that mode is enabled. When it's disabled, the icon should have a large "X" over it. When it's enabled, the icon should have a large check mark over it.
Missed the option "Invert Luminance, Keep Images Normal"
I love how this extension inverts white and black—it makes screen-viewing much easier on the eyes. Unfortunately, it still messes up images, especially thumbnails, and it becomes a hassle to keep disabling and enabling it every other webpage. The description says that it does not affect images; only the color of the text and background so I hope, with future updates, it gets better with recognition in that regard.
Videos goes blank with a white mask when this is enabled. Took a while to figure what was causing the issue. Youtube was playing fine thought. Thus troubleshooting was quite difficult.
