Every time I get my laptop (MACbook Pro) fixed (it IS 8 years old), they take this extension off and when I get back into FB I get so frustrated seeing all the junk and not getting my "latest updates". I just keep coming back and downloading it. I LOVE this app and have recommended it to anyone who complains about the FB ads.

If you aren't using FBP now you should be. I dislike all the ads on face book and the desktop notifications that pop up when I am playing 8 ball pool. Not to mention all the distractions from those annoying ads that surround the game while trying to play. FBP stops all that and some much more I highly recommend it. Love, love, love this extension. I've been using it for years. While facebook couldn't care less about what we want from our facebook experience, FBP does. It allows you to make facebook exactly what you want. Whatever feature annoys the crud out of you, FPB can most likely help. And if it doesn't yet, just add a suggestion on the FBP facebook page and it will likely be made part of the extension, if it's not already there. There are a lot of things you can do with it, so you might miss the particular setting you're looking for :P Kudos to Steve for doing for us what facebook will not :)
