The app does exactly what the description says in the contents file. Like most Google apps; if installed properly and on a compatible hardware it works as it says it will. Thanks for all the good GOOGLE APPS you guys write.
Does not work on Chromium dev. It tries to load and just shows a blank page
Works great for me. I mostly use gSuite so decided to go cold turkey and remove Office! But receiving MS Office files from other people was proving annoying (I had to upload them to Drive, convert to Docs, and then edit). Now that I have this app I can click on the attachment and it opens directly in a browser tab - perfect.
The overviews says it supports .xls and .xlsx files. When I try to edit my .xls files, I get a message saying the format is not supported and I must save in a newer format (.xlsx). I ended up with two copies of the files (.xls and .xlsx). Why can't I save in .xls format if it's supported??
Very Handy tools that i use regularly since i started to have files on various clouds for data integrity; i do miss some of the functions that excel does, but i get over them, and i find that by just using this program i eventually get used to it as my primary one. The fact that excel isn't working on my Linux helps, and i do like most google products likes this; no problems (other than just getting used to it, and find new ways of doing some features in excel); i definitely recommend people get and use this as we all move into a cloud(ish) environment.
This will open most office or excel documents which is very helpful to have.

For reals this is a life saver. Dragging client files into this extension so I can edit them is saving me so much time!
excelente
It used to work, but no longer. Now, when I try to open an Office document, I get a blank page that says: Whoops! We were unable to open the file you requested. If you continue to experience an error, please report an issue below. Report an issue When I click on "Report an issue", I get a dialog box that says "Tell us what's happening", and when I fill that out and click on "Send", the Send button greys out, while the dialog box remains on the screen, and nothing further happens. (Presumably no message regarding the issue is sent.) Uninstalling and reinstalling the extension does not help.
