High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

I want to turn it off and on on the status bar.. because when I print the pages come out black and use up the ink.. I don't wnat to go to the accessiblitly ican to do it that way
Great!
AWFUL!!! WANT TO REMOVE IT!!!
Doesn't do a jack for a single web page.
I had a few initial complaints about the different options, but after using it for a while I discovered that it causes video and audio feeds to stutter. (youtube especially, but I can have the same video open at the same time in a private window without the issue, and disabling this plugin removes the stutter.) I was actually hoping that this would work better since this is the "google" offered extension, but apparently not. I've had to go back to my existing violentmonky/tampermonkey/greasemonkey script.
Its constantly going back to regular setting by itself and have to refresh the web page to go back to High Contrast. Will this be an issue that is fixed? We have a new program at work and it is web based and its hard on the eyes so i try and use this everyday. If and when this problem get fixed this will be great!
Good job! Very useful. If possible, it would helpful to add a site customization of Disabled. That way we don't have to disable the extension on certain sites, like FedEx, that will not display at all with the extension enabled (regardless of the setting),
It's incredibly useful. I am a programmer and like my dark screen. There is one problem!! If I enable High Contrast in one window and then if I click on a link which opens another tab/popup, the popup doesn't render in High Contrast even if the popup is from the same web application context. Sometimes, it's the opposite i.e. the popup would turn black, but the opener page would convert to normal view. Please fix this issue ASAP. It's a big problem when suddenly a white window pops up when your eyes are accustomed to the dark color.
