High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

Мои глаза вас очень благодарят. Я начал программирование изучать и соответственно читать лит-ру, но мои глаза сильно уставали. Настройки моника не помогали, но вот алилуя с вашим расширением, можно хоть сутками читать))) Хорошо, что я нашел это чудо-расширение, спасибо Разработчикам большое.
A cautionary note: This plug-in can cause unanticipated problems. When this plug-in is installed AND enabled (and for any setting) it causes graphics features for some applications to disappear. My problem was with Google Slides. When "High Contrast" is enabled, any graphic feature added to the slide cannot be seen in the "Edit" mode. It reappears in the "Play" mode. This anomaly also occurs for other apps where you add an image file ( i.e., an icon to a map). Leave this plug-in in the off or disable state unless you are using it.

Good if you already tried to change contrast through your Mac/Win/Lin OS and found the toolbars changed too, not just the text. Works immediately, and even though it requires all permissions, we can all trust it because is "(by Google)" though, knowing there are other decent extensions that can not provide that kind of trust and further how developers are forced to demand general, far-reaching permissions means this or that random username (not tied to a G+ account of any kind, who do we all *actually* ask for identification...?) demanding full permissions, well so "High Contrast" would not be what I would have said.
