High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

At last, in your high contrast extension, the background color does not prevent people to write in the edit box of a forum, and also the search box of Google. I had been going to hell and of course heaven to find such an extension, now I have found it. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!! Odrareg
Great concept that works well on some sites, poor on most. Better result from setting my monitor contrast setting to maximum and upping sharpness setting. (1) Messes up Facebook and Google Drive - have to actually disable the extension, as just setting to "normal" for that site doesn't fix it; and (2) on many sites it makes the pale background darker, so I get darker text, but also a darker background, which doesn't help much.
Now gone bad. Grinds my Chrome to a halt. Please fix it. Latest chrome updates have made this app obsolete until they update it. I have isolated my chrome problem to this High Contrast app... by disabling ALL Chrome plugins and Extensions, When I enable this app Chrome runs very bad, all choppy and bad frame fate on vids and high CPU.

Great idea in theory, but it's basically unusable due to websites breaking, eg: google images.
Help. I need to get the half moon icon back on the top right of my bar. I inverted the colors by accident and NEED to have that to return TO ORIGINAL SETTINGS.
Really liked the extension but after the latest chrome update it breaks many sites like google maps and reddit and a few others. Even setting to default view doesnt fix the problem, only when extension is disabled is the problem fixed.
I have some vision issues and this app certainly helps. Since I just loaded it today, I can't go into any detail except to say it works for me.
I HATE THIS AND HOW DO I DISABLE IT DX!
