PDF.js is a Portable Document Format (PDF) viewer that is built with HTML5.
PDF.js is community-driven and supported by Mozilla. Our goal is to create a general-purpose, web standards-based platform for parsing and rendering PDFs.
This extension offers PDF.js as the default PDF viewer in Chrome. This is the official Chrome extension of the PDF.js project. Be careful of unrelated copycats.
If you want to use this viewer to view local files, visit chrome://extensions/?id=oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm and put a check before "Allow access to file URLs".

Ест много памяти, для открытия pfd-файла на 2.3Мб умудряется занять в памяти 200+Мб. В результате - при активной работе, компьютер с Win7 х32 - начинает жутко тормозить (до 800Мб съедает расширение).

Bitte eine Einstellung hinzufügen mit der man einstellen kann das ein PDF Dokument immer in einem neuen Tab geöffnet wird. Ausserdem wenn man geöffnete Dokumente herunterladen will sollte der ursprüngliche Dateiname beibehalten werden. Im Moment heist das Dokument immer nur document.pdf
The best pdf extension available and blows Chromes default viewer out of the water. You'd want to also turn off Chrome's default pdf viewer in plugins when you install this.
Much better than I expected. Actually much better than Google's own PDF viewer at this point. Google has work to do on their own rather limited internal viewer. VERY fast and returns to where you left off when opening a PDF! What a concept Eh Google?! :-) It's not perfect yet. Trying to print a large document back to PDF will cause it to consume ALL the memory on a Chromebook with 4GB RAM and then crash. So for printing maybe the Google plugin is still the way to go. Works offline just as well. I did note that it seems to use about 40% more memory (at least in one test) vs the Google viewer. Not a big deal unless you are using a 2GB Chromebook and have tons of PDF tabs open I imagine. In any case, an excellent addition to my Chromebook.
This is how the default PDF viewer should be. Noticed 2 issues: 1. When trying to print a pdf from Drive it opens in PDF Viewer instead of printing. 2. Printing quality is degraded when doing it from within PDF Viewer.
Use it for work to quickly view PDFs linked in Jira (which recently updated and removed a feature which allowed one to view the PDF in the browser, but now requires downloading the file). Now I can view those files quickly with just one click again. The plugin is light and fast, and has just the features I need. Thank you!
