It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few second one more time. We don't read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read - there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.
Once the extension is installed simply navigate to any page that offers HTML5 video, and you'll see a speed indicator in top left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal the controls to accelerate, slowdown, or rewind the video (10 seconds + lowers playback speed). Or, even better, use your keyboard:
- S - decrease playback speed.
- D - increase playback speed.
- R - reset playback speed.

Best extension ever! It saves me soooooo much time, and the shortcuts are super useful, not to mention customisable
This extension is giving back so much time. I wonder why google continues to bury it down on the list when I search for it.
I was going to rip my hair out from a prof speaking way too fast in online recorded lectures. Then I found this extension. As a result, I'm not bald (yet) so everyone who has online school should add this extension. You don't need to look at any other reviews. So far on my school website (Learn), no problems has occurred that has been talked about in the other reviews. You can change the time each function does like forwarding/reversing the video and speed change of each click of course

@dev could you add an option to make the controls always visible, not just on hover? I mostly watch videos on a computer with a touch screen, without a mouse, so this is almost unusable for me. After I tap on the 1.00 the controls show for half a second, then they hide again. The only way to kind of make it work is to connect a mouse, move the mouse cursor over the 1.00, then start using the touch screen. And after a while that stops working and I have to do it again, which extremely annoying, as you can imagine.
Love it. Note: In my case, the controls often do not show up on top of the video, even if I hover with my mouse over the right spot. But the extension still works: Just use the S and D keys to slow down or speed up videos. A life-saver, thanks!

Genial! Funciona perfectamente :)
This extension is very handy for watching virtual classes. No more having to put up with your teacher's slow speech!!! I'm glad it works on everys site, including recorded Zoom classes and Vimeo too.
