5 stars for the humor.
Works okay, I wish it were quicker.... if you block "chrome://extensions" usually you have time to turn off StayFocusd before it can redirect you. Also, probably should make it so when "Stay Focused" is search in the chrome store this comes up, had a bit of trouble finding it....
Great Extension, though with the new chrome update it can be easily removed. Otherwise I would recommend. 5/5
It's a bit clunky. I wish there was an option for "sessions" - for example 20 minute session, turns off the page and then allowed another session two hours later. My biggest peeve though is a bit petty - the "God have mercy on your soul" pop-up every time I turn on nuclear option. Coming from a religiously oppressive country I hate seeing mentions of "a God" everywhere, it's tiresome and disgusting. I'm probably going to look for an another extension that doesn't mix in religion (even if jokingly).
Awesome extension. Works better than their paid app Freedom!
Excelente.!!!
It's okay when it works, but the code can fail and start blocking sites you need for work. This take more time and you end up distracting writing a google review and defeats the purpose of the app.
First thing I loved about this is the great sense of humor. Secondly, the way you can't remove websites or change any setting when nuclear option has been selected. You literally can't do anything when it's on and the only option is to uninstall, but that can also be prevented. And most of all, it does everything to dissuade you from cheating. This app restored my hope for humanity I heard you also like money...? No problem
Nie wiedziałem, że tak bezwiednie klikam na ikonę Chrome'a, dopóki nie zacząłem używać tego rozszerzenia.
I've been using this extension for a long time. It is very useful and has served me well. However, one point of contention is the fact that the page that appears when you try to access a blocked site (http://www.stayfocusd.com/?background&customMsg=) is not an offline page and has to load through the internet. This means that it takes time to load if you have a slow connection, and you can use that lag to view whatever page you want to(hit the escape button to cancel loading). The dev probably does not want to address this since he needs people to view that page, as it contains his donate button, and of course he can put up ads there if he wants to. Blocksite does not have this problem (which is why I use both stayfocused and blocksite). Other than this problem, the app also has limited functionality when it comes to scheduling (still more options than blocksite). I love the nuclear mode. EDIT for 2026: After 6 years of using it, I have finally decided to uninstall and leave the app. The primary reason is privacy, the app tracks your data and UPLOADS IT. I don't trust the company behind the app, knowing their reputation. I am using another app called leechblock now. Leechblock is not as user friendly as stay focused, however if you spend some 10+ minutes configuring it, it is actually better than stay focused in what it can do. And it doesn't upload your data anywhere.
