This is a really helpful extension. The only thing that I would love is the ability to see the whole paragraph (or let's say, a reasonable amount of context) when pausing. This is because I can speedread most text, but on the most difficult passages I need to pause and go back. It would be better to just switch to classical reading mode for such passages. EDIT: really thanks for having implemented this suggestion; in just 6 days!
You are out of your mind with this shift bs.
I love this app but I do not use it as a Speed Reading tool! I find it to be the best reading tool for 'normal' reading speeds. I read a lot online but most of the articles use small fonts, cluttered pages etc. (Wikipedia is the worst). The benefit of using Sprint Reader is the ability to change font size and background colour. I can centre the text and read 4 words at a time, then sit back, relax and read without getting eye-strain and not worrying about how long the article is. I teach Dyslexia students and highly recommend this application. More options for selecting background colours would be good. Also, auto pausing when long words appear would be great!
Really nice piece of software. I just hope I could use this also on my phone!
This is great. One suggestion: can you make it so that when I hit the space bar (stopping the text), the previous sentence or two show up above the displayed word? Often, I stop the text because something didn't make sense, so it'd be great to go back and instantly see the entire sentence or two preceding the word.

Thanks! But I have some comments, similar to other users: - Numbers and some words are splited which causes confusion.
Works very well for most reading. However, the algorithm needs to be updated to handle words that inherently include periods such as: i.e., e.g., U.S., a.m., p.m., etc. The default pause after a sentence (triggered by a period) is helpful *at the end of a sentence* but is a significant annoyance with these words.
