I have been using this for myself and introducing this product to my customers for years. It is a great way communicate and ensure your calls go where you decide at a rate anyone can afford. Free!
Excellent for receiving voicemail messages when I'm using my PC or Android device. Excellent for retaining voicemail messages when I switch phones/carriers/etc. I *think* it's getting better at transcribing the voicemail messages, also. This is a must-have extension if you have a Google Voice number and you want to block unwanted callers and create a list/label/circle/whatever of unwanted callers' numbers which will redirect the bad callers to the traditional "this number has been disconnected or is no longer in service" message instead of sending them to your voicemail. Some callers just don't respect your requests to stop harassing you, you know? Being able to send SMS messages from my google voice number via Google Voice is a wonderful, helpful feature which I enjoy using from my Android tablet or other old phones that have no wireless connection other than Wi-Fi and Google Voice installed. Despite this being made abundantly clear in the "OVERVIEW" tab regarding this extension, I will reiterate: If you want Google Voice to work fully for you, you must have a Google Voice number and connect it to your "other" telephone number (probably your main number, unless you have others). Google Voice is NOT Google Talk or Google Hangouts and is unrelated. Reviews of those other services belong under those other services. My review is from my perspective, which is that of a person living in the United States (the only place from where you are supposed to be able to use Google Voice, apparently); I have a Google Voice number and it is connected to my primary voice number.
I don't know why reviewers say it's gone. I just used it today. I've been using GVoice since the beginning. I love it. It does have its limitations though; hopefully this will change over time.
I loved it & I'm very upset that it is gone.
this feature is excellent
Easy way to communicate and have messages available at all times.
I dunno why they still publish this extention.
