Extension to return old Twitter layout from 2015 (or 2018). WORKS IN 2026!
This extension doesn't add any CSS on top of original Twitter. It's fully different client that replaces original new Twitter client, making it faster than alternatives that just add style on top of Twitter. This extension requires you to be logged in to Twitter account.
Please visit https://twitter.com/old/settings after installing to make it work just as you like. It switches to chronological timeline by default, you can switch back to algorithmical timeline in settings.
You can visit unchanged Twitter by visiting https://twitter.com?newtwitter=true.
The code is open source! Check https://github.com/dimdenGD/OldTwitter to see the code and report any issues.

Still the best way to experience Twitter. No more dealing with the bull that the site shovels to you, and a great way for old users to have a better more familiar layout.

Very impressive plugin. Videos break sometimes though where the reload button doesn't fix them, maybe a fix some day? Thanks for your work.
This has been a pretty interesting experience. I was not here during Twitter of old, and I can see what has been missing from the newest iterations. Zooming rotating and moving images, for one, was news to me. Very useful. Unfortunately that does mean I have to forego the ability to drag and download images, but this is a good trade off. Overall, I will daily drive this mod for a while.

I only hope that you add in like an "Auto-Update Timeline" type feature like how TweetDeck originally did the timeline before it's preview. That ws my favorite part about using TweetDeck because I didn't have to click anything essentially.
