Chrome Remote Desktop allows users to remotely access another computer through Chrome browser or a Chromebook. Computers can be made available on an short-term basis for scenarios such as ad hoc remote support, or on a more long-term basis for remote access to your applications and files. All connections are fully secured.

Chrome Remote Desktop is fully cross-platform. Provide remote assistance to Windows, Mac and Linux users, or access your Windows and Mac desktops at any time, all from the Chrome browser on virtually any device, including Chromebooks.

Infuriately impossible to make work. Was trying to help my 83 year old mother. I sat for an hour with my laptop next to hers, troubleshooting on Google support site and elsewhere. I can see her desktop but can't control anything. I quit.

This is trash. It's only a one way connection. I need to get into my Chromebook remotely to migrate data, not the other way around. Unlike with Mac and Windows, it doesn't allow for copy & paste between desktops. It's also not a full app, just a Chrome web app. I had to install this on my PC, only for it to be a simple web app anyway, meaning there was absolutely no benefit to installing it any deeper than the browser level. This is the wrong way to go. You shouldn't have locked us out of our own property. Instead, you should have allowed for a direct wired connection and 2-factor authentication. At least that way we could be alerted or confirm our identity via phone or email and migrate our data easily. Instead I'll have to do it the long way with a thumb drive or external SSD, which costs me money. Talk about wrongheadedness. I don't know what you folks at Google are doing, but it's not very good lately.

I can now control my Windows PC from my Chromebook. Great! But what I wanted was to be able to do the opposite, and there seems to be literally no way to do that. And there's no good reason for that to be the case. Incredibly frustrating experience, one of many that's making me with more and more these days that there was an option out there that isn't Google or Apple for this kind of tech ecosystem.
