Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

Love it, but it would be even better if the address bar could be cleared after loading the desired page, so we can just start typing without having to hit F6 first.
Good, but I wish when you clicked on the address bar it removed the chrome:apps text. I find myself typing before removing the text when I search.
Well done for fixing a major annoyance Google arrogantly introduced by removing Instant Extended API flag. At least Microsoft makes an effort with backward compatibility.
Dunno about all this new permission stuff, but new tabs should open with blank URLs. Currently I open chrome://apps but I have to delete that every time i open a newtab
Given back the new tab without browsing history for all in the workplace to see! Fail to understand why you can't turn that off in chrome anyway, but this app does the job!

Fixed my issues with Google's change-THANKS!
I just tried a few other new tab page extensions and had to uninstall all of them because they took way too long to load. This one, on the other hand, loads up a new page lightning fast! It also looks exactly like the Chrome apps page that I used to use as my new tab page. This extension is exactly what I was looking for, so kudos to the developer!
