Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

This is one of the extensions I cannot use Chrome without. What makes it unique is its ability to NOT focus the address bar while redirecting, allowing me (and others) to have the focus on the webpage itself. All of the other similar extensions are not able to do this URL bar unfocusing. Please, Jim Schubert, do NOT give up on this feature in the future.
This extension appears to do virtually nothing. I've configured it to send new tabs to a URL, but it always presents me with a generic New Tab Redirect page instead.
worked as promised , which was to remove the thumbnails of suggested sites at bottom of the google homepage. which results in a nice plain google search bar. HOWEVER. it only works once , every time you close the browser ... the extension becomes disabled for some reason ? so you have to enable it again every time you open the browser . other than that , does what it says it does
It has always been reliable. Does what it's suppose to do.

Love it! Chrome still doesn't natively have this so I have been using this for years =)
URL bar doesn't automatically focus and I have to manually hit ctrl+a to select the full url. This sort of behaviour is new.
Schade das man die Icons nicht ändern kann also welche links angezeigt werden wenn man den tab mit den ganzen links öffnet wenn man die noch ändern könnte weil dafür habe ich das eigentlich gehohlt wäre das schon gail
