NewsGuard's reliability ratings for news and information sources help users make decisions about which news sources to trust—and avoid misinformation and disinformation.

Our ratings, scores, and Nutrition Labels for websites are displayed next to links on search engines and social media platforms and cover all the news websites accounting for 95% of online engagement.

Ratings are conducted by a team of experienced journalists using nine basic, apolitical journalistic criteria. Each site receives a trust score of 0-100, an overall rating level ranging from “High Credibility” to “Proceed with Caution,” and a thorough Nutrition Label report detailing the site’s ownership and financing, content, credibility practices, transparency practices, and history.

原先的免费模式被完全废弃,现在全面转为收费订阅制了,我可以接受高级功能付费,但无法接受借助免费用户起家后转为彻底的收费模式,一星送上,拜拜

Great app, has a very good rating system that is applied fairly across the board. I am a faithful NPR reader but have been wanting to find a reputable conservative news source and this site helped me find some great ones that live up to rating that NewGuard gave them. Highly recommend in the era of hype, misinformation, and opinion/conspiracy presented as fact.

Suckers in reviews and then switches to an entirely paid subscriptionbased model where the free users who helped build the reputation is completely locked out. So yeah you get a 1 star from me. The app itself pre pay to play was pretty good though.

This application does a great job of separating sites that misrepresent facts from those that don't. Sites that tell the facts straight get a green light. Those that spread lies get a red light. This still leaves A LOT of room for interpretation. Fox gets a green light, and I continue to read Fox, but I disagree strongly with so many of their interpretations. This distinction is where so many of these reviews fall down. People are rating the application poorly because their favorite sites, those that publish interpretations they agree with, are flagged red. However, no one needs to make decisions or arguments based on outright lies. Facts don't always lead to the same conclusions depending on how people weigh the different issues at stake. And only after we agree on the facts can we have meaningful conversations about our different values. Good job staking out the common ground!

they gain my trust by being fully transparent on the criteria they use for their rating. It also very convenient.

Charging a fee to deliver your service seems like it may drive away consumers, I suggest a donation based model, since you're providing 'real news.'

They say they can help discern what is true from what isn't, yet all the news sites they mark as 'green', or truthful seem to be the less truthful around. And the worst thing is that they're marking the most truthful as 'fake news'. This means that they aren't what they claim. What they are is probably more like a propaganda watchdog trying to control the access to real information on the internet.

I love this app and have used it for a while. I like the fact that sites cannot hide their questionable practices. Some people are saying that it is bias against conservative sites but the Nutrition label is very clear on what they check for. Things like "does not repeatedly publish false content", "regularly corrects or clarifies errors" and "website discloses ownership and financing" are objective criteria. Keep up the good work and I will keep up my subscription.

It's great and an important tool to have in the digital era. For many reviews saying it's biased, just read the company's own description in how it is funded and run by conservatives and liberals to make news better for both sides.
