Note: You must be logged in to chatgpt.com to use ChatGPT search.

This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.

ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.

In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

As someone else noted, using !g is cumbersome, it should be opposite. Default to google and use !g for ChatGPT responses. Love the idea, but immediately disabled it for that single reason. I don't want an auto GPT response when I type in 'restaurants near me'. Will revisit review if/when updated,

Very neat, but would be great to have an easy way to switch.

I found the GPT Google extension a bit cumbersome in use. Every query adds to the chat history, which requires manual deletion, and I have to switch back to the GPT chat page frequently. Although I can use !g for Google searches, this command format feels a bit clunky and counterintuitive. If possible, it would be more intuitive if GPT searches were triggered by a command format, while regular searches default to Google. Additionally, !g can be confusing, as ! often implies 'not,' which might suggest 'not Google' to some users. Ideally, regular searches would directly trigger Google, while !g would be the specific command for GPT queries.

Hello OpenAI devs, I am writing this message to hopefully fix a flaw in the ChatGPT search chrome extension. Normally I use google chrome for regular search on the internet however I recently downloaded the ChatGPT search extension and really need an easier way to switch between a regular google search and AI search. I bypass the bug by having to go into chrome extensions and manually disable/enable the feature. I would like the extension to be more integrated into the search like an on/off switch integrated directly into the search bar instead of having to go to extension settings. Thanks! It feels a bit invasive and too early, but its good We don't yet live in a world where this can replace my workflow. I use GOAT AI Summarizer and I'm able to supercharge the way I browse existing web content. I've absorbed existing and trusted content 5x faster this way.

Should have the option to show both "Search ChatGPT for ...." and "Search Google for ...." in the right-click context menu. There are situations I want to do both interchangeably and this breaks my muscle memory and workflow. It also pollutes your chat history with *every* *single* *search* you make. Which then makes the sidebar on chat.openai very hard to navigate. Especially since you still can't search your own chat history. We should have an option within the extension to perform the search as a temporary chat by default. Almost every search I make is ephemeral, even though OpenAI and Google want to remember it, I don't need it clogging my chat history. Disabling this extension until it plays more nicely with itself and others.
