* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

Chrome is stupid for changing something that probably only a minority deal with
woke up this morning to not being able to use back space, rather stupid as its always been something i have used. instead of removing it they should of just added an extension to disable it not make an extension to disable it ffs. been using backspace for 17 years

Like others, I am giving a one star review to complain about the removal of the backspace. This should be an option within chrome rather than an additional add on (and shouldn't have been removed in the first place). Alt + Arrow also changes the screen orientation on my laptop and many others too, something that should have been considered before making this ridiculous change. Edit: Now it needs all these permissions when it was working fine before????

Idiots. Porting useful browser functionality over to a limited functionality addon will automatically reintroduce thousands of already fixed backspace-related bugs. Most notably: Flash games used to be able to capture backspace exclusively, but now if you hit backspace in game you lose your game progress as the stupid addon thinks you want to go back when in fact you are just typing in a text box in game. Back when the browser handled backspace and not an addon, it knew you were deleting text in a flash game and didn't stupidly go away from the page. Result: You've achieved exactly the opposite of what you wanted to do. Prevent more backspace-related accidents. Edit: I hate superfluous extensions. My addon list is a carefully curated collection of only the most elite and crucially important, masterwork quality browser enhancement applications. And now I'm smearing this piece of garbage onto said beautiful list just to get nominal backspace functionality back. :( With all new bugs...
그냥 옵션에서 기존 백스페이스 뒤로가기를 토글할수 있게 하면 되잖아... 그게 그리도 어렵니
Sorry aber dieser Mist funktoniert so nicht. Bin am schreiben und die Backspacetaste navigiert mitten im Satz bei aktiviertem Addon zurück. Das Addon funktioniert ergo nicht so wie geünscht Beziehungsweise wie beschrieben. Weiß auch nicht warum man einfach die Funktion einer Taste komplett ändert ohne vorher mal Feedback einzuholen...oder es einfach als Option zu setzen.
