* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

rubbish. bring back the backspace button function. or give the option to enable it on chrome settings. much appreciated
Funktioniert hervorragend, schön dass dieses Plugin inzwischen offiziell von Google angeboten wird. Ein Stern Abzug weil die Funktionalität erst gar nicht von Google deaktiviert hätte werden sollen. Grundsätzlich wäre es sinnvoller statt einem Plugin eine Auswahlmöglichkeit in den Standard Browser Einstellungen anzubieten.

太久没更新，都不知道Chrome把我最常用的backspace后退给取消了。找了半天才找到这个扩展
Bei dem einen sind Adapter notwendig, bei Chrome Erweiterungen um normal weiter arbeiten zu können....
New version asked for even more permissions. Switching to another extension that uses fewer permissions.
Not a fan of the new permissions. Why can't this just be a flag in chrome settings?
Same as other commenters, I was pleased with this extension to return a much used function (that Google says nobody used), to Chrome, until I went online today to see it was asking for permission to read and change anything I do online. Deleted it.
