It's 4/5 stars less because a lot of people here (specially Mac users) are which understandably fuming to bits and it would be nice to know/see a list posted of what have been updated besides the UI and security features even if its only that. Making the new updates known may help people to understand why old features or history are gone and other complaints from others using this extension. I'm using my work PC most of the time and which nothing is wrong so far but hopefully on my laptop a Mac and the version of SB won't make me go lower the stars or uninstall.
Totally agree with previous reviews : many functionalities were great that have disappeared ! Why so many software upgrades need to bring quality downgrades ? Why take away functionalities and call it an upgrade ? Where is the tab count per Collection ? Where is the automatic Backup every X minutes ? Why can't I search the current "This Browser" Collection ? Why do I have to press ENTER to search when just typing would filter urls effortlessly ? etc, etc... Such a disappointment... Like Ricardo Sendra below I'm dropping my rating to 1 Star, until this is fixed. or release a Legacy Version until this Massive update is stable and key original functionalities are back !
Broken functionality. Can't open a saved window saved in a session. Have to open all of them. No options to open in a new windows. Open in this window. From other reviews, other functionality is also broken. Used to be a great extension.
I used to export html and mark down my sessions, and it was all organized, the new update took all of that, I uninstalled it and got the old one instead
Was 5 Stars, But.. they did a massive Change and Broke a key Feature. Dropped to 1 Star, until this is fixed. or they release a Legacy Version until this Massive update is stable and key original functionality is fixed!
What happen to all my history and sessions????? Why the update? I am quite disappointed with the recent update as it has significantly impacted my browsing experience. One of the major issues I encountered is the disappearance of all my browsing history and sessions without any warning. This has left me feeling frustrated and confused. Moreover, the update seems to have removed the convenient option to open all tabs or separate windows. Now, I am required to save tabs to a collection in order to access them later, which I find to be an unnecessary and cumbersome step. This change has disrupted my usual workflow and made browsing less efficient for me. I hope the developers take into consideration the feedback from users like me and consider reintroducing the previous functionalities that made browsing more user-friendly.
Now Cmd-B, which bolds text in almost all text editors, launches SessionBuddy, with NO WAY TO DISABLE. This interferes with my daily use. Just no. Been using it for many years, and I have uninstalled it. Edit: Disable it on chrome://extensions/shortcuts
Other reviews here rightly point out features that have now been removed, seemingly in the name of making it look better. But here's the thing: it doesn't even look better. I'll probably keep using it, but the old logo and design was better, rendering the removed functionality COMPLETELY in vain. I hate when products get rebranding that "fixes" what isn't broken, introducing newfound irritation where there wasn't any before, and completely pointlessly.
SessionBuddy... why would you knowingly release an update that removes critical functionality? 2023 and 2024 have seen several extensions go from critical to my daily workflow to *useless* in the span of a single update. This is a prime example of that.
Hate THIS!! I've been using Session Buddy for years after trying so many other extensions that failed me. I was quite disappointed by the new update and all the functionalities that I'm now missing. I will admit that it looks better now but previous functionalities are compromised. I used to be able to find the stuffs I needed just by searching (whether they're in my collection or in unsaved history). Now I don't have that option. Now searching things would only show from the collection and it would miss if they are on history. I have got so many damn things on history as I rarely put all the links I need in my collection. I generally use both, collection to find the links I used and history to check what else I was doing that day. Sometimes I remember some stuff I searched but didn't save them. Now I can't find those thing. I have no god damn clue why you even bother saving history in the first place if you can't search what's in there.
