High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

I get severe headaches from working on my computer and much of the irritation has to do with the lighting. This app is going to help so much! THANK YOU.
I really do like this extension, and I use it most of the time. Unfortunately, unlike its claim that it does not invert pictures, it does. It also inverts the colors on videos. It really messes me up because I really like having the white text on a black background and not have to turn of the extension to see pictures. I also wish there was a smarter way of handling websites that are already dark gray on light gray. They're not high contrast either.

This extension is very useful to darken the web pages. However, if you often use Google's office suite (Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.) images don't appear while the High Contrast function is on. Changing the color scheme doesn't help, but "DIsable (Shift+F11)" the High Contrast from the extension popup solves this problem. To disable the function manually click the extension in the top right of Chrome and select "Disable". Other than that, this extension works very well.
It wasn't as fun as when you do it on a Chromebook.
It said compatible with my computer, but it doesn't work. I tried SHIFT+F10, SHIFT+F11, and SHIFT +F12. I'm removing the extension. OS: Windows 10 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.4GHz System type: 64-bit Operating system, x64-based processor Display adapter: Intel(R) HD Graphics 520
Works great when no pictures are involved. Instead of ignoring pictures it just washes them out to the point that it is impossible to see them.
En las páginas tales como Google Docs online no me permitía ver las fotos que ingresaba a un documento, por lo tanto no podía imprimirlas y pensé que era problema de mi impresora o alguna configuración que le hice a la computadora. Tuve que restaurarla y perder mucho tiempo, por favor arreglen esto, tiene potencial pero veo que no soy la única que tuvo el problema.
