High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

it wont work for google searches
Hat letztens noch funktioniert, jetzt geht die Farbinvertierung nicht mehr. Früher wurde der weiße Hintergrund schwarz. Jetzt bleibt der Hintergrund schwarz und die Schrift wird gelb. Pain for my eyes
this is a super, SUPER great extension, especially since I recently have suffered an injury that causes me to have vision problems. But I've noticed that the extension does not seem to work (at least on my machine) for the Google Play store...does anyone know why this might be?

Unfortunately the browser doesn't stop flickering in the High Contrast option.
It is very hard to rate this extension because its functionality is very variable. For some sites, e.g. Wikipedia or Microsoft Outlook, it works perfectly while others, e.g. Facebook and Google, it fails to invert properly and actually makes things worse. From what I can tell from forum posts it is something to do with the latest version of Chrome and rolling back should fix the issue. I'd rather the extension was fixed to work in Chrome's latest version. When it does work properly, it is fantastic, but it works horrifically just as often. It remains (in my opinion) the best high contrast/colour inversion extension regardless.
