High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

My browser recently upgraded to 45 and as soon as it did, the high contrast extension became unusable. I depend on this extension to be able to read documentation and now Its just garbage. Please Google fix this quick!
This is terrible. I have random things popping up on my screen sometimes, and it just totally ruins any images, among other things. The extra contrast mode even looks bad. I downloaded this one as a night mode, and trusted it since it was by Google, but they really dropped the ball with this one. It's a piece of crap.

Mostly worked great. Now no longer works properly on most web pages... yellow on black for example gives me yellow text but no change in background...
This is the best one I found so far. I really liked it at first but then I started finding sites that do not "Invert Color" correctly. I would get Yellow on Gray which is worse than Default Smoked Text on White background. I wish they had a setting that worked everytime Yellow Text on Black Background. Since I developed Cataracts I cannot see well at all. It still is the best one I've found so far.
not what I need. The current "STYLEistic habit LIGHT text against LIGHT background may look cool, but like the actual paper print of most printers ink and instructional booklets and "cool websites" are NOT READABLE by those of us in the Baby boom generation who have at 66, finally faced FEAR of blinding.
Doesn't change the background from white on most websites.

Recentemente o recurso de inversão de cores parou de funcionar na página de pesquisa do Google. Ao acionar o recurso, ao invés de inverter cores e escurecer a página, ela fica totalmente branca, impossibilitando a leitura dos itens pesquisados. Google, o que aconteceu? Podemos resolver isso e voltar com a página escura? Tenho problema de visão, e o recurso era excelente para possibilitar minha leitura.
