At DuckDuckGo, we believe the best way to protect your personal information from hackers, scammers, and privacy-invasive companies is to stop it from being collected at all. That's why millions of people choose DuckDuckGo over other browser extensions to protect their searching and browsing. Our built-in search engine is like Google but never tracks your searches. And our browsing protections, such as ad tracker blocking and cookie blocking, help stop other companies from collecting your data. Oh, and our browser extension is free — we make money from privacy-respecting search ads, not by exploiting your data. Take back control of your personal information with the browser extension designed for data protection.

I thought I was going to get an alternative to searching with Google. What I got was a replacement, and what's worse it took over my new tab page. I looked for settings to turn that off, but they don't seem to exist. I need my quick dial page, dang it.
WOW, supposed to be an app that DOESN'T track you except all of my searches and such are immediately being reported to and tracked by google chrome. The search history has to be deleted from google chrome's browser and I cant get DDG anywhere as a stand alone only as an extension? It's ridiculous if you need to use a "private browsing" version of a PRIVATE BROWSER? Am i missing something?
muy bueno
I love DuckDuckGo and I've been using it for quite a while now and I think it has great features. Being able to search for images based on size and other parameters is nice, how relevant and unbiased the search results are, and the theme customization. I really like the new tab page in the recent update, its very nice.
As of September 5th or 6th, 2019, this extension now replaces the start page without so much as a prompt or setting to use the default start page. While I would normally recommend using this extension for being unobtrusive, relatively light weight and still useful, I really dislike the fact that I am now no longer able to get to my most-used sites. That also means I will have to turn off this extension until that is fixed.
Who told you to take over my new tab page? Uninstalled.
It was fine until it suddenly today decided on it's own to change my "New Tab" page to it's own stupid and ugly search page, which is glaring bright white and refuses to comply with my Deluminate extension. There's no option I can find to disable it and get to the new page that I had and liked before. Really stupid move imposing yourself like this on people. I wasted a lot of time today trying to find a solution, but nothing. Thanks for ruining your extension and wasting my time. And for what benefit? I WAS ALREADY USING YOUR SEARCH ENGINE. I'm getting rid of this. Pretty sure Ublock has me covered anyway.
I love this tracker-blocker. Teamed up with Ublock origin, almost nothing gets past it. But I am giving it only two stars because when I open a new tab page, It goes to duckduckgo's new tab page. NOT THE THEME I DOWNLOADED. Some people pay five dollars for a theme. This just goes and overrides that, making those $5 wasted. I am very disappointed, and I hope that duckduckgo reads this and removes that feature, or makes it toggleable, or something!
I really like duck duck go, but i can't use it if its gonna set my homepage to its website, i like the google new tab and its disappointing that i can't change it to that without disabling duck duck go entirely
Can't look at my Chrome Theme on the new tab page anymore, could you guys add an option for it? EDIT: Fixed it, thanks!
