Product summary

Try h264ify if YouTube videos stutter, take up too much CPU, eat battery life, or make your laptop hot.

By default, YouTube streams VP8/VP9 encoded video. However, this can cause problems with less powerful machines because VP8/VP9 is not typically hardware accelerated.

In contrast, H.264 is commonly hardware accelerated by GPUs, which usually means smoother video playback and reduced CPU usage. h264ify makes YouTube stream H.264 videos instead of VP8/VP9 videos.

Note: 4K and 1440p videos will not be available because YouTube no longer encodes those videos in H.264

Genial!!! Con Vivaldi Browser, la reproducción de video en youtube, ponía la CPU entre el 80/100 %. Con esta extensión, el problema se ha resuelto.

Thank you SO MUCH! My *7* year old Lenovo B570 can handle 1080p just fine, but 1080p60 causes it to stutter, but not with this extension! :D (Even with the "Block 60fps video" turned off!)

Successfully disabled 60fps video playback so my computer can play high quality videos with no problem again. Thank you.

It works! Playing 1080p at 2x speed no longer takes up all the CPU resource now.

Ottima estensione!! Grazie a questa riesco a riprodurre in maniera fluida i video di youtube perfino su un vecchio Pentium 4 HT 3.4 Ghz fino alla risoluzione di 720p@30 fps, mentre con il codec vp9 questi scattano pesantemente.

Without this, my computer can not handle youtube (sadly, I have only 1 processor) this makes it so my notebook will play youtube, even if it's only in 460p :)
