It's a good add-on but recently there have been more and more pop-ups, and there's no way to disable them. I've been using this for the past year but I'll be switching as soon as I find a decent alternative.

Two things. First this extension will cause a popup window to open everytime with an ad to install something else. Second the "positive" reviews are one thing, but the people disputing the negative reviews are usually one in the same. In other words another "flood the space with lies so no one whats to believe. Google. It's time to label these extensions as ad or silentware. In my opinion it acts as malware, and it doesn't seem to have simple removal. This is by far and I've been using the chrome browser since it first came out the worst extension that I have used. This necessarily doesn't mean the worst extension in the space, but you were warned. My advice google this extension, which I didn't and read reviews that are outside of the google store focus and be more informed about you decision. If I would have done that, I would have never installed this extension.

Awful pop-ups with botted 5 star reviews. I don't download extensions so they can pretend to police my chrome updates. Borderline adware. Only redeeming factor is that the thing actually works

The pop-ups are intrusive and annoying. I do keep my Chrome up-to-date even without the reminder; and if my browser IS updated it pesters me with a warning about my Google account's privacy settings. I don't feel great about a Youtube extension questioning my privacy settings - it would be like the cashier at a movie theater giving me advice about protecting my Social Security Number. The buttons on the pop-ups give the appearance that they will take me to an official Google page, but instead they link back to this extension's website. That's the extra bit of creepy which helped me decide to stop using this and to look for a replacement. If this extension kept its focus solely on its Youtube functionality, I would probably continue to use it. Unfortunately, it seems that this developer prefers to lash out at negative reviewers rather than make any changes.

It was a very good extension at first, the best I would even say and it still is one if not the best extension for youtube when it comes to features and their implementations.. BUT!!! A while ago they started to add pop ups outside of chrome to tell me whenever there was a update to chrome which in itself was annoying but I didn't mind as you could just click it away but since a few days or weeks, it opens up tabs which want me to install some other browser or something else, anyway it's shady af. I want a extension for youtube, not a extension that tells me when to update chrome or what software to update which shady new tabs it opens without my permission!! I recommend everyone to stay away from this, I won't post alternatives as there are already many out there and a quick google search turns up more than one so everyone can chose their own, but honestly, just uninstal and report this extension. I can't say that this does install malware, but even if it does not, it does actions that are not trustworthy! Google should look into this and take steps against such behaviour.

It contains viruses. It makes random popups appear on the screen that contain download links to viruses and these popups are disguised as chrome alerts. Others are having this problem as i've seen on reddit.
