When you pause a YouTube video, the player controls don't disappear. That makes it really hard to take a clean screenshot of the video. The controls also block your view, which can get really annoying. Hyde is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to hide or show the video player controls easily.
⭐ Simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M to hide the controls or show them again. ⭐

Works perfectly.
Default Binding "CTRL + M" does not work :/ But after change it manually to "CTRL + SHIFT + M" in chrome://extensions/shortcuts it started working! And "no" i don't use anything else that uses same Shortcut ^^
thank you sir, very useful tool.
The extension work as intended but there's a major problem with Windows: if you have a program or an app opened that starts with "M", Ctrl+M will bring that app on the forefront instead of hiding youtube's video player controls.
I love this extension - quick, simple, effective. It appears a Chrome or YouTube update has broken it in the past day or so, though, at least for me? Still rating five stars and just hoping for a fix.
good job works great. I do have to press the ctrl + m twice to exit the mode, but that all right.
I use this to hide the seek bar when watching starcraft tournament videos. Since seeing the amount of time that's left can spoil it, but they can be very long so I eventually need to pause. Just Ctrl+M after loading the page and bam, I'm safe for the rest of the video! Love it!
Works with all browsers except Vivaldi.
So simple, but totally improved my watching tutorial experience. I couldn't stand the way those frickin chyrons would block crucial parts of the video.
love the developer so much. This is very very helpful.
