When you pause a YouTube video, the player controls don't disappear. That makes it really hard to take a clean screenshot of the video. The controls also block your view, which can get really annoying. Hyde is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to hide or show the video player controls easily.
⭐ Simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M to hide the controls or show them again. ⭐

Very useful for watching recorded video when I want to always show url bar or top of the video in Youtube screen display.
doesn't work, even their domain seems to be gone
It doesn't work... Even if I reinstall it... Please fix it...
Good stuff. On Mac it is Command + M combination ;)
Finally!! I've been wanting to do this for a while and stumbled upon this amazing extension. I can now pause my videos and take notes in piece.
This is amazing! It works, and does exactly what it needs to. Now I can finally kill that stupid gradient that takes up half the screen.
It doesn't work for me anymore. The progress bar and video title disappear, but the play/pause button is still there. It used to disappear.
Thank you.
