When you pause a YouTube video, the player controls don't disappear. That makes it really hard to take a clean screenshot of the video. The controls also block your view, which can get really annoying. Hyde is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to hide or show the video player controls easily.
⭐ Simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M to hide the controls or show them again. ⭐

It just works! Simple as that!
çok kullanışlı olmuş, teşekkür ederim. thank you
Fonctionne parfaitement <3
Works on edge but not out of the box, you have to go to edge://extensions/shortcuts and set the shortcut CTRL+M manually, also set it to 'In edge' rather than 'global'. that's how i managed to get it running in edge. on chrome it works out of the box no need to change anything, but only in youtube site itself (not in embedded videos). overall great extension, especially for those educational videos where sometimes the player controls always covers important content when you pause the video for a second to catch a better understanding. Thank you to the developers of this extension you've helped me a great deal!
It does work, but only on Youtube itself. Embeds on other sites are unaffected as far as I've been able to see so far. If you could get it working elsewhere, that'd take it from good enough to perfect.
Not for Bing/Microsoft Edge browser, but still works perfectly on Chrome.
4/5 because it doesn't work with Edge. I know it was meant for Chrome and not for Edge, but the ability to customize the shortcut would have been good practice and allowed it to work everywhere.
Works exactly how i want it to be. Control + M
This extension is invaluable for screen shots and it performed flawlessly since installation a few years back. Today, it stopped. Enabling/disabling did nothing so I uninstalled it, restarted Chrome and came here to install it again. Works perfectly. My thanks to The Creator....
It does exactly what I want it to do - and NOTHING more! I love it when it just WORKS...
