This extension will open a Compose window in Gmail when you click any email address on a webpage. It also provides a button that will create a Gmail message when clicked, using the page title as the subject and selected page text and link address as the message. For setting the domain name of your "Google Apps for your domain" account, click Options.

This extension is by far my most used!
Solved a problem for when when my Chrome shows NO handlers. Therefore there was no other way to get GMail to open a mailto: link. Thanks for an excellent product!

Sends me to a 404 error page within latest chrome version on mac.
Very slow because it has to open a new window.
Liked it when it worked, but it disappeared one day, and I can't add it back in. Chrome shows it installed, but it doesn't appear when I try to use it.
Now I'm not one to give a rating based on something other than the actual product, but for this I'll make my very first exception. THIS SHOULD BE AN INHERIT FEATURE OF GOOGLE'S BROWSER. It is absolutely ludicrous that I have to install a separate component (subject to failures, updates and latency) in order to get it.
Doesn't do anything for me.
