This extension will open a Compose window in Gmail when you click any email address on a webpage. It also provides a button that will create a Gmail message when clicked, using the page title as the subject and selected page text and link address as the message. For setting the domain name of your "Google Apps for your domain" account, click Options.

It seldom works on the latest version of stable Chrome.
Positively absurd that Google does not simply offer this by default. WHY is AOL mail so freakin' easy to use and this is a pain. My button breaks all the time and have to uninstall and then re-install it. Why so difficult with all those brilliant Google minds?
This app "Send from Gmail (by Google)" does not stay showing on my toolbar or menu and is nowhere to be found even though it says it's already added to chrome. This app could have been helpful on those pages that don't have share button

great for sending links but mailto links do not behave as advertised.
