Hover your mouse over any image on the supported websites and the extension will automatically enlarge the image to its full size, making sure that it still fits into the browser window.
This is an open source version of the original HoverZoom extension which is now overrun by malware and deleted from store. In this version all spyware has been removed, many bugs were fixed and new features were added. It doesn't collect any statistics by default. The only permission it needs is to access data on all websites (to extract full images), and *optional* permissions to access browser history, download/save images or get tab urls for per-site configuration.
Sometimes sites change design and when it happens extension needs to be updated. Please report any issues with zoom not working by using Support tab or https://github.com/extesy/hoverzoom/issues page.

Eigentlich toll, aber bisher hat alles auch ohne zusätzliche Berechtigung zum Download funktioniert. Nun trennen sich unsere Wege nach so vielen Jahren. Und tschüss! Actually great, but so far everything has worked without additional authorization to download. Now we are parting ways after so many years. Bye! Bye!
This was an incredibly useful extension but unfortunately it now needs access to manage my downloads which is something I am unwilling to give. Apparently it is to fix the download feature which I did not find useful at all. Very unfortunate.
This is open source, that means safe. Maybe a upgrade note would be better.

If you want the extension to download images, then it needs access to "manage downloads", and if you want it to zoom an image, then it needs access to "data on webpages", it's that easy. Guess all the 1star givers here are morons ;-) Thanks for you good work!
Great extension, no complaints! Would be cool if there was an additional 'action key' to save the current image to clipboard.
Latest update wants to manage my downloads? Read and change all my data on the website I visit?? Good grief, why not just asked me for my bank details? Permission denied.
I will not allow a picture hover plugin to access my downloads. Removed and rated 1 star
As of today this extension wants to manage your downloads. I don't trust that.
