There are two of these FB customizing extensions I have tried over the years. Social Fixer and this one, Fluff Busting Purity. Both are great but this one edges out on top for my preferences. Also, the developer of this one is usually quick to update this when FB makes a change that affects it.
Facebook is nice to use now that all the non requested things are gone.. No more "Did you see this?" "Look someone is selling something", or "A new friend wants to add you". All gone. Thanks
I cannot read Facebook without FBP. End of story. You *need* this extension.
Whenever I load FB in a browser that I don't have FBP installed on, I am instantly overwhelmed and upset by the junk that FB floods my screen with. From ads to "suggestions" of all kinds, it overwhelms my senses. I practically feel attacked. Then I realize just how much I rely on FBP, and how very bad FB is without it. This program allows me to be in control of what I do and don't want to see on FB. I can even filter out (by keyword) annoying posts by friends who sell particular brands of products I have no interest in... then I never have to see those posts at all, but I can still see their other posts. I love that control. I seriously don't think I could use FB without this. If something ever happened to FBP I would cry a river of tears. Highly, highly recommended!

Indispensable! Can't reasonably use FB any more without this. Total lifesaver!
The features that work are great. However, if anything isn't working, "support" is in the toilet. If your issue isn't in the FAQ, Troubleshooting Guide, or User Manual, you can just give up. This is a lot of reading to find out FB Purity can't help with a problem! However, the idea is great, and I'm pretty sure that given time, the developer will have worked out many of the kinks. (Unfortunately, I had to uninstall in order to see any of my "liked" pages in my newsfeed - with FB Purity installed they all disappeared, leaving me with strange random pages and Instagram photos... note the one, single thing I had blocked was the word "Instagram"!)
It's been great, but Facebook has removed my ability to get to do anything with FBP.
