It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few second one more time. We don't read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read - there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.
Once the extension is installed simply navigate to any page that offers HTML5 video, and you'll see a speed indicator in top left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal the controls to accelerate, slowdown, or rewind the video (10 seconds + lowers playback speed). Or, even better, use your keyboard:
- S - decrease playback speed.
- D - increase playback speed.
- R - reset playback speed.

I love being able to watch/listen to videos in fast speeds. I like how small the install size and footprint of this extension, while still adding great value. I like having shortcut keys so I can slow things down (like an action scene) or speed them back up easily. I like that it works with almost all videos! (The few it doesn't work with probably have restrictions on altering playback speed.)
This has worked perfectly for a few years but as of late the file keeps saying it is corrupt and I have to keep pressing "fix it" in settings because will be removed from using it without notification

Unfortunately, it has broken and needed to be repaired every day for the past 2 weeks.
this was my FAV extension, I would rate it 5 stars. but it recently broke and requires repair every new tab. this has a very negative impact on my productivity. Please Please Please fix it folks! I wana give the 5 star review that you deserve.

Perfect
I love this extension so much and it saves me so much time, but it keeps disabling itself from chrome, and I have to reinstall it each time. Does anyone else have this problem?
great extension (currently seems to be broken) .. such an essential that it should be part of Chrome out of the box IMO :)
