It was good, until it stopped showing me the number of unread emails and just shows a question mark all grayed out. Until this is fixed, I must rate this poorly.

This used to work great but over the last month it basically stopped working.
The latest upgrade to this extension seems to have stopped working. I need to disable-enable it every time. Otherwise, it does not seem to connect.
The recent update broke the functionality of this extension. Unread mail icon only works when launching chrome or new window. Please fix this.
To fix refresh issue on 4.3.4 version (quick fix done on my side, so I hope will work for you too). Edit this file: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\mihcahmgecmbnbcchbopgniflfhgnkff\4.3.4_0\background.js Line 282 replace "if (alarm.name == 'watchdog') {" by "if (alarm && alarm.name == 'watchdog') {" Btw you can also edit delay to verify new incoming message by modifying pollIntervalMin variable (by example var pollIntervalMin = 1; to have 1 minute refresh). Desactivate/activate the extension, or restart chrome to have the fix. If you re-install extension, change will be lost.
This was a great plugin but it stopped working. It continues to show 1 email after I have read everything.
It's great for one click loading of Gmail, but a shortcut in the bookmarks bar will do that. It doesn't actually work is why it's getting a crud review from me!
Sometimes it doesn't know exactly how much mail I have in my inbox. Basically, it doesn't keep updated. Seems like it should be pretty simple to fix. Right?
It's never up to date. Your have to refresh your inbox page for the icon to show the correct amount of unread e-mails. Takes forever to update itself on it's own. Imagine when you receive e-mail...
