You sit down at the computer, and you swear you'll be productive. Next thing you know, it's twelve hours later. You've checked your email, updated your Facebook status, blown through 200 pages of Reddit, read every article in your Twitter feed, looked up your favorite band on Wikipedia, vanity googled yourself, cyber-stalked your ex, browsed through all your high-school crushes' Instagram feeds, and lost a week's pay playing online poker.
What you haven't done is WORK.

A simple web site blocker to keep you focused and enhance your productivity
The Freedom website blocker gives you control over distracting websites, so you can focus on what matters most.
Limit your time spent on distracting sites. Limit is an extension that allows you to set time limits for distracting websites.
Beautifully interrupts mindless browsing, and gets you back to your life.
Eradicate distractions and take back control of your browsing
It's a nuisance. This little app prevents me effectively to use Facebook all day long. I'm already getting withdrawal symptoms, after just one day (repeated apathetic tapping on the F symbol on my phone). I'm starting to miss my friends and the pointless discussions with idiots I don't know. I really have to do something useful now. It's just missing an OS X app that would be able to block all other apps like on Android, not only some web pages.
Does what it says it does. Definitely has saved me a lot of time that I otherwise would've spent browsing reddit at work. I'm deducting a star, though, since the timer doesn't reset consistently. If I browse a blocked website for 4 minutes and 30 seconds one day, I'll only get 30 seconds the next day. I followed the dev's suggestion to set my daily reset time to 1 minute after the blocked period ends, but it doesn't work. I like the fact that I get 5 minutes to browse unproductive sites; mental breaks are good every now and then, and the limit keeps me from going overboard. This bug keeps me from doing that without cheating the program, though.
This is super helpful if you have an addiction to a social media website and it's cutting into your productivity. Helps us news junkies realize how much time we're spending reading and not writing. I had to activate it in incognito mode as well otherwise I'd cheat. (Oh, BTW I did not have the problems nick liam had, this program is safe, you do get a Stayfocused page that blocks you (your choice)suggesting a program called Freedom, but it doesn't take you anywhere else. I think Nick Liam had a browser hijacker. I've had no problems with this program at all. Really glad I downloaded it.)
I have a Facebook problem. And this helps me manage it. Lightweight, does what it says it does – and free. Amazing. Thank you
This is, hands down, my favourite Chrome extension of all time. If time-wasting websites were a rash, then this extension would be the ointment.
The only reason I am giving one star is that they dont have Edge extension and thats bad. Because you cant open the distracting websites on chrome but you cant stay focused because you can easily can open on Edge. Its like you want to prevent yourself eating fast-food and you limit yourself from only one fast-food chain but you can easily go to other fast-food chains. Or at least I couldn't find their extension for Edge.
why can't i disable it at the moment when i need to do something important !!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a solid extension, does what it says and has a lot of options. I've been using it for years.
The challenge is way to hard, and after I finished it I ended up wasting time. But otherwise it's very good.
