It works perfectly even extensions like 10ten reader. If I could wish for one feature it would be a partially transparent background for text.

Awesome extension that helps to put subtitles anywhere on any website and it also helps to find great subtitles to any show. Thank you makers for creating this.

Seems like a great idea, and I am a fan of anyone putting in the effort to make media more accessible for language learners and the hard of hearing. It just has a ton of issues for me that make it almost unusable. When enabled, the extension fully replaces the Hulu interface, unlike the other subtitle extensions I've used, which also require far fewer permissions I should add. This would be fine if the Substital interface worked. Used on Hulu with Google Chrome 97.0.4692.71 (Official Build) (64-bit), the seek/scrub bar doesn't work at all; it is completely broken. I tried using the arrow keys to see if I can still skip forward and back, but the extension also disables their use. The only way I could skip forward and back was with the hotkeys added by Video Speed Controller extension, but I disabled this, along with NoScript, uBlock Origin, and my other subtitle extension Dualsub, just to be completely sure they were not conflicting with Substital. Previously, I was also experiencing a rather frustrating bug that caused the Hulu tab to start playing on its own in the background, even when minimized, every few minutes, but this bug seems to been fixed by disabling those other extensions. I do really like the built-in subtitle search feature; this is one aspect that puts it ahead of Dualsub, not that they're all that comparable in purpose, but it is notable that adding new subtitles with Substital is very user friendly. While admittedly, the two extensions aren't designed with the same goal in mind, I still would have liked for Substital to leave Hulu's native subtitle function intact. So that way, if I'm watching, say, Modern Family with a Spanish dub and Hulu's Spanish subtitles, the service could be used to add an overlay of an English subtitle file, much in the same way Language Reactor does with Netflix, or like with Dualsub. I will however admit ignorance, insofar that I don't know if overlaying one set of subtitles above the streaming service's native subtitles would be functional & practical, or what would be required in developing the extension this way. For all I know, there could be a very good and practical reason for Substital completely replacing the Hulu interface. But from my limitted perspective, it seems to create some problems, and also limit the extension's use for language-learning with content that already has subtitles in your target language.
