BRINGS CHROME TO A CRAWL! I've been suffering for weeks for often from painfully slow performance on Chrome on Mac OS X. I disabled this Google Voice extension and all is well. STAY AWAY!
I have moved onto Google Hangouts for my texting but I really enjoyed the minimalist approach that this extension provided.
Been using this for years now and have never had any issues. It has to be the best plugin I ever added to chrome. Hopefully it will keep working while everything migrates to Hangouts.

I like the desktop application. It has worked seamlessly for a long time. Recently I have started getting a several error messages about messages not being delivered. Not sure why.
Great app ... I use it constantly and works just perfect ... I only wish one could send voice messages as it had been with Google Talk ... once upon a time ... this is lacking big time with Google ... Google sleeps a bit and one has to use Viber oder Whatsapp ... what a pity ...
Cannot get it to work and no support.
never notifies you of incoming messages ... no dings no sounds--- at the very most is a random auto refresh only if you are using your computer . needs to not take over my phone too... i want to not only call out on google voice number... i want the option of my own sprint / at&t / verizon / tmobile number as well as the google voice number. i dont want some ppl to have my number from my actual carrier, just google, and some i want to only know my carrier's number... or at least fix the photo message forwarding ... messing all my girl game up here --- so inconsiderate seeing as i never get laid... they need to fix these problems... the phone takeovers, the option to send with either number, and the picture message receival. its an awesome free commodity though--- don't get me wrong --- but reviews are constructive criticism combining creative clans
Come on Google!! What are you guys doing? Between Google Voice, Hangouts and Google+ everything is a confused mess!!! I cannot find my own contacts, I cannot easily SMS, I am forced to message people in Hangouts when they are not using Hangouts - Please fix ASAP, now I cannot even SMS from Google Voice... really???
