Bugs, glitches, sticking points, poor integration (Voice, Talk, Chat, Hang, really??). After two years of use, I must say this is such a let down!
Awesome application. When all other providers charge you with this service Google users get it free. Another plus for always using Google. The rock in continuing to add great applications to their platform.
I was never able to make a call out using Google Talk. I click in Connect to my home phone number and would never hear any sound while it says its calling, then eventually the Connect button appears again. My home phone never rings. At least Hangout calling is working.
Love it! Very easy to use and the best part is that is syncs with my cell phone and sends me emails when I have a message.
Excellent interface... Works like a charm. I use it over seas to keep in touch with everyone back home in the states. Many great features. Highly recommend.
Can anyone at Google say whether they are working on the bugs being mentioned here? I can't use this extension any longer for the same reasons others are stating: ghost pop-ups that won't go away, randomly minimizing Chrome, buggy behavior on opening the extension. I know Google's pushing to make Hangouts a replacement for sms/voice (or at least it sure seems that way) - does this mean the Voice extension won't receive any more love?
So many potential improvements could be made. Hasn't evolved much. Hopefully the Hangouts integration replaces this app. It works ok, but there's no way to snooze notifications, so if I'm hooked up to a projector, I have to disable the extension.
Holy F*CKING Hell Stop Animating! Theres no way to stop the F*cking thing from animating seemingly at random, pulling your attention away from whatever you were doing in your browser. It isn't even telling you that there is a new message, noting has changed. Had to delete it in the first two hours.
Worked great for many years but when they started rolling out Hangouts, SMS messages can be sent but not received and there's no record if the SMS anywhere.
Amazing features...benefits and value in this product for sure. Especially if you own many websites and want multiple #'s going to 1 phone.
