I really liked it while it still worked, but it definitely doesn't anymore, no matter what other people say, and hasn't since about late november 2022. In the context menu there's just the "search with google image" option, which uses google lens.

The core functionality of reimplementing the view image button still works. The "search by image" context menu option doesn't work anymore, but Chrome now has the "Search Image with Google" context menu option which is pretty much the same, it just uses the google lens interface. It's still a 5-star in my book.
Can confirm it's now broken, use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/search-by-image/cnojnbdhbhnkbcieeekonklommdnndci instead.
It makes the "view image" buttom returns, but I don't think this is so utile since you can access this option by clicking on right buttom over the image and select "open image in a new tab". Plus the other fuction doesn't work, it just opens a new tab for google images, but doesn't make a search for the image. Also this function is available at the context menu too.
This extension still works for me, except that the "Search by image" context menu option no longer works correctly; it just opens the Google Images main page and doesn't actually do an image search. Since I use a different, more powerful extension for reverse image searches anyway, I no longer need that feature enabled for this extension and have disabled it in the extension's options. Also, I've tried using the GitHub userscript that some replies have mentioned and that doesn't work at all. So don't bother adding it to Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey/Violentmonkey.
Used to work correctly. Unfortunately, Image search doesn't work anymore.
