Don't like the new Google AI overviews appearing in your search results? Perhaps you don't like the discussions section or the shopping blocks or even the sponsored links? This extension lets you hide them. It simply uses CSS to set those areas of the page to be hidden (display="none").
AI overviews are hidden by default but the options menu lets you choose what else you might want to hide: Videos, Discussion blocks, shopping blocks, "readers also ask" and sponsored blocks are also available to hide. Note that, if Google changes its CSS, we'll have to update the extension to keep pace.
You can also search the Google web results tab from your address bar by hitting w + space and then entering your query.

This is an absolute necessity given googles insistence on forcing ai into your life with no tools provided to disable it. Ai should be a Feature, set to be toggled off and on, NOT the top search result. "Do no evil" more like "Do every evil imaginable"
The fact that Google doesn't allow you to turn off its AI Overviews is absolutely insane. It is wrong SO often, like genuinely 80% of the time it is straight up, not only wrong but CONFIDENTLY wrong. I seriously cannot believe Google haven't been sued for it. Imagine you're asking for health advice and this thing tells you you are fine when you clearly need to see a doctor. It also steals views from struggling websites that survive off of views and clicks. AI Overviews are the first domino in a long line of negative outcomes that AI is going to create for humanity. Whoever is in charge at Google and decided to allow this should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

This WORKS. Also, after installing, it gives directions on restricting Google search engine to WEB ONLY allowing you to bypass all of their "suggestive" junk. Wish I found this sooner !
