As of July 2025, Chrome no longer supports the older extension system Darkness was built on. As a result, Darkness can no longer be used.

To remove Darkness from your browser:

1. Go to chrome://extensions

2. Search for "Darkness"

3. Choose "Remove"

This Extension seems to have been abandoned, so many bugs with the CSS for the themes in facebook and YT. I was expecting maybe some new themes to be added over time, or updates to fix the bugs. There is nothing 'Pro' about the Pro version.

I wish I knew about chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark before I paid 5$ (yes, it's on sale). Not worth it. Disliked every theme.

given the fact that I paid for this extension and it only has 7 very indistinguishable themes, I am not impressed by this extension at all.

1 star, only because 0 wasn't an option. The themes are just bad, at best underwhelming. But even if you disagree, they only work on a small subset of sites: so your browser will constantly bounce back and forth between themed/not themed. In my case, I immediately asked for a refund well within the appropriate window to do so...I'd been polite, sympathetic and constructive in feedback/explaining why I was dissatisfied with the product; all of which was unnecessary in so far as qualifying for a refund (I just thought some customer interaction might be wanted), and yet I just flat out never heard back from them/never got refunded. Stay away!!!

This is so cool. Aside from Eye comfort, it also save more battery power especially in our area where Electrical power is the common problem.
