Product summary

Review the store description, core capabilities, and common use cases.

With this extension you can easily search for text you have selected. When some text is selected you can left click the selected text to get a popup where you can choose a search engine to search with.

In the options page you can customize the look of the menu, which mouse button that should activate the menu, which search engines to show, and a lot of other things.

**************************************

When you install this extension you will get a warning that this extension can:

"Access your data on all websites."

This is needed because the code for the popup-menu needs to be added to every website for it to work.

I love this little extension. By far the best Chrome has ever had. I have a Few suggestions : Sometimes, I want to search for something on ALL sites listed in the extension. Why not enable this by clicking on the main subcategory instead of having to click each one of the subitems ? Another suggestion is that to make it pop I need to select some text. Sometimes, I wanna use this instead of the search bar to search on multiple sites. I would just like it to pop all the time. Maybe an icon to use it or something in the adress bar ? I don't like to have to find text to make use of it. Other then that, it's always great having nice people making nice stuff !

It works pretty well for me. I like the fact that %s is used as a variable, just as in the "Add engine" strings created by Chrome; so these strings can be pasted directly. Alt-Ctrl click doesn't work perfectly, but it's a valuable shortcut when it does. I've tried both "Context Menu Search" and "Selection Search" and found the latter faster to use and more customizable.

After exploring several options, I have settled on this. Easy to use and works as expected. However, I would like to bring to your attention a little problem: Once you have selected something, it is impossible to drag it (if suppose you want to use it somewhere else by dragging it).

Please update the jQuery version to 1.7. Older versions (like the one you are using) are spamming the javascript console with "event.layerX and event.layerY are broken and deprecated in WebKit. They will be removed from the engine in the near future." warnings.
