Free and unlimited password manager to keep your login credentials safe and manage them directly in your browser.

Get the password manager created by the former scientists who met at CERN behind Proton Mail, the world’s largest encrypted email provider. Proton Pass is open-source, end-to-end encrypted, and protected by Swiss privacy laws.

Pass offers more than other free password managers and has no ads or data collection. You can use it for free forever on all your devices to create and store unlimited passwords, autofill logins, generate 2FA codes, create email aliases, secure your notes, and more.

* Protect your logins and their metadata with battle-tested end-to-end encryption

While many other password managers only encrypt your password, Proton Pass uses end-to-end encryption on all your stored login details (including your username, the website address, and more).

* Audit Pass’s open-source code

I converted from LastPass to Proton Pass and the transition was pretty smooth. Couple notes: - The password generator is fantastic, especially the "easy to remember" variety. - When updating or creating a new password, the extension doesn't always remember to save the new password in a popup, it unfortunately is not as consistent or easy as lastpass. This caused me a bit of strife when transitioning because I had such a multitude of accounts to go through. Sometimes you don't get the prompt to auto save and it's easy to misclick and lose the new password, requiring a password reset. I'd estimate about 60% of sites had this problem (my experience was solely in Chrome), so hopefully the devs can make it a bit smoother in the future. - Proton Pass has a really useful feature to see your weak passwords. This includes passwords that are too simple, but also ones that have been leaked in data breaches. I was a bit shocked at how many of mine needed updating but with the help of this tool I was able to fix all of them quickly. Besides the updating issue, my main request would be for one additional "email" field. I think with more people using more email aliases just having the user field is not enough. I found myself sometimes putting the username in with the email in the notes field, which felt awkward. It's a minor gripe but otherwise a great product and I hope to be with Proton for a long time!

My only gripe with the Proton suite is that I didn't discover it sooner.

I would give it 4.5 stars if I could Works really, really well. I have been using Bitwarden for 2 years now, and switching to Proton Pass was a breeze. The autofill works better than Bitwarden most of the time. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it still falls shorts of default browser password managers at auto-filling the odd website here and there. There is so also no quickly accessible way to generate a password, the option only appears as a popup on the login field when you are changing an existing password or signing up for a new account on something. This can be very annoying, but is also a first world problem and not a deal breaker.

Love the idea of how this works. A little confusing at first. Some of my accounts did not use all the special characters the system automatically created. I needed to manually change the characters to ones the web site accepted. Once I learned this, my bank and credit card logins are very secure, and I am feeling more relaxed about not having to remember passwords. Also, the vaults that I can give my children a secure access to my accounts is very reassuring.
