Works perfectly for amazon livestreams which autoplay in comet browser! Recommended!
Wow, I've tried so many, but only this one works.
Every time any interaction happens on a website the plugin starts videos, even if the interaction has nothing to do with the video element. I check the console and it says "[AutoplayStopper] User interaction → media allowed". Dude, just keep them stopped until I explicitly click on the video element itself and remove the autoplay attribute altogether! This isn't why I downloaded the plugin.
I was annoyed every morning by videos auto playing on FOX. I tried every suggestion I could in Chrome to stop them, without success. I then began trying extensions and none worked until I found this one. AutoplayStopper (MV3) is like RAID for videos. Stops them dead in their tracks!
working on hotcopper
Stops autoplay as advertised however the extension seems to break when you change tabs and come back, videos start autoplaying again.
The extension works excellently in general, reliably blocking things. However, it unfortunately has a tendency to ignore exceptions, and will still reliably block things even when you don't want it to. It doesn't happen often, but it does.
Works great on the Amazon store homepage where it autoplays annoying video ads. This so far stopped it before it even started.
It works better than any other extension since Chrome mandated v3 manifest. Sometimes you need to refresh a page to bring the autoplay stopping back (e.g. NYTimes.) I don't care that it doesn't work for youtube since when I'm on youtube I want to watch videos. (There's surely dedicated extensions for that who want it.) I want this extension to block motion on pages that I want to read on, and it does it better than any other v3 manifest extension I've found.
