one sec forces you to take a deep breath whenever you open social media or other distracting websites. It’s as simple as effective: You will reduce your social media usage just by becoming aware of it. one sec is the focus app that tackles the problem of unconscious social media use at its root. It is designed to change your habits on a long-term basis.
You just wanted to check that one message – and ended up scrolling for 30 minutes on Instagram? Social media companies use psychological traps to keep you hooked and spend as much time on their apps as possible. Time that could be spent so much better – with your family and friends, getting work done or for your hobbies and wellbeing.
Many apps and tools block social media for a limited amount of time to help you focus. This might increase your productivity for the moment, but the real problem – your habitual urge to check apps and websites to get that dopamine boost – stays.
The one sec Chrome Extension is designed from ground up to keep your information private and secure. All usage data is stored offline, on-device, and only you can access it. I make money selling apps and subscriptions, not your data!
one sec is also available for iPhone, iPad, and Android Devices to block native apps and websites. More info on my website.

It is great because I am literally obsessed with YouTube and there doesn't seem to be many great extensions that focus on the triggers .
Helps keep me off of websites like facebook that my fingers automatically type.
The iOS app is incredible, and while very basic in comparison, the extension is equally valuable. It's important to note that it is early in development and will not have all the features available in the iOS app immediately. But at the end of the day, it does what it says. Strongly recommend supporting the dev with the mobile app.
Saving my brain
Smackingly good nosh
Such a useful tool to regain control over your time.
I saw such a huge improvement in my approach to screen time after getting this app on my phone, so I wanted the web extension too. Also amazing!!
Love this app on my iPhone and glad to see there was a Chrome extension as well! I hope they bring some of the iOS features to Chrome. For example, picking something else to do (a link to my to-do list for example) rather than go to YouTube.
Works great without feeling like a punishment. The timeout helps me reassess whether I actually want to open a given website or if I was just feeling an impulse.
I loved this extension as it makes me breathe and wait before opening social media.
