Custom Cursor-Man: HERO’S RISE in an incremental idle clicker game. Relive a life of an average guy that likes to watch some TV while eating his favorite fried chicken. But this simple man has a giant dream of becoming a superhero to fight crime.
You start while enjoying your favorite hobby, watching a show on TV while having a snack and all you see around you is your flat and your old TV set that been around here for ages. But deep inside you feel that its time change everything. To set your life goals and follow your dream of becoming a true game superhero.
Our hero sees himself in a mirror and he doesn’t like what he sees. You need to do is get yourself together and start working on our looks. No crimes have yet have been solved with a chicken-stained beard or with a super power of chicken smell. Yep, that’s your first goal on your long path to become a superhero.
The next thing you need to do is to work on your strength. We have never seen a hero who fights bad guys with his nerdy looks. You need to work on your strength to be able to fight crime in the city and be powerful enough to confront any baddie in the city. Same as your costume, you need to conceal your identity, but every person in the city should understand that they can ask you for help.
And when that’s done, you can truly become Custom Cursor-Man, and your journey as a super hero will begin…

Een 'inactief' spel? Volgens mij doet een inactief spel het dus niet... De tekstschrijver die 'inactief' hier bedacht, had, denk ik hoor, ik zeg ook maar wat, die had even een creatief inactief moment? Dan kan ik ook nog wat zeggen over 'Clicker' in Clickerspel, maar ik blijf niet bezig natuurlijk. Behalve dit: Nederlands is een levende taal, mijn gewaardeerde collega-copywriter, en absoluut, ik bedenk ook nieuwe woorden. En ik gebruik ook bestaande woorden in een eerder nog onbenutte context, da's meestal nog plezant bovendien. Voor de lezers thuis althans. Maar dat kun je niet met ieder woord doen. Het geheim zit hem erin, dat het bestaande woord in de nieuwe context een duidelijke parodie-functie heeft op de oorspronkelijke betekenis ervan. Die parodie-functie staat er niet, maar wordt door het brein van de lezer verstaan als meta-taal gebruik. En dat maakt het dan weer grappig. Als je deze meta-schrijftechniek, waarmee je je tekst ongezien en toch letterlijk onleesbaar serieus kunt opleuken, goed beheerst, dan ben je absoluut een virtuoos schrijver. Heb je dat intuïtieve talent, want dat is dit type gevoel voor humor, niet helemaal lekker in de vingers, dan sla je helaas meestal de plank nèt mis. Je zette de lezer wel op voor een vrolijke beleving van je taalvondst, maar z'n brein wordt er niet vrolijker van. Dat is een beetje teleurstellend en resulteert meteen ook in het trieste gevoel dat je dan met je goeie gedrag oproept. En vind de lezer je tekst misschien ook niet echt leuk maar eerder een beetje flauw. Dat flauwe gevoel kan er voor zorgen dat de lezer afhaakt en de plugin niet meer installeert. Dat heb je dan uiteindelijk bereikt, al het werk voor de plugin voor niks. Ik begrijp het wel, maar wat je zelf als creationist wel om te lachen vind, moet je voor de zekerheid toch altijd nog even testen. Kijk wat je grap doet bij een paar proef-lezers. Vrolijk je ze op, dan heb je het goed gedaan. Barsten ze in hartverscheurend huilen uit, dan moet je misschien nog even wat meer nadenken of inactief actief kan blijven in je tekst... Probeer 'subactief" anders? /actief
