This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

Does this extension changes the default new tab page, removing the Google search box in the new tab page? Oh, be more confident please. Doing this will ultimately lead to a ban.

I’d prefer a less invasive approach. Currently, typing !g allows for Google search; could we instead redirect !g or !c to ChatGPT? This would avoid having to adjust my entire workflow.
Essa foi pra matar a google. A Alphabet toda ta rezando pra que nao vire algo comum as pessoas usarem essa extensão. O plano deles com o Gemini é justamente ter uma IA para poder continuar sendo o maior mecanismo de busca do mundo.
Introduction to ChatGPT Search The emergence of ChatGPT Search marks a significant advancement in the landscape of digital information retrieval. Developed by OpenAI, this innovative tool harnesses the sophisticated capabilities of the GPT-4o architecture, representing a culmination of years of research and development in artificial intelligence (AI). Unlike traditional search engines that rely heavily on keyword matching and indexed data, ChatGPT Search employs natural language processing (NLP) to comprehend user queries in a more nuanced and conversational manner.
The idea is interesting, but currently, GPT significantly falls short of Google in terms of interactive content (like images, videos, maps, and various sections). For example, when searching for a movie title, Google provides relevant information in additional sections, such as actors, soundtrack, etc. If GPT were to add this functionality and create a hybrid with similar options, it could become a strong competitor. The second issue I didn't like is the limits. I pay for GPT Plus monthly, and each query consumes my limits. I search for information via Google very often, so my limits would be quickly exhausted. Something needs to be done about this; otherwise, after exceeding the limits, I’ll still end up using a regular search engine.
